Kizingoni House is a world-class private luxury home on 1½ acres of secluded beach property on Lamu Island in Kenya where the guest has exclusive use of the four-ensuite bedroom house, boat and grounds. Total relaxation and comfort are ensured by a well trained staff. Swahili cuisine is featured with an emphasis on freshly caught seafood and tropical fruits and vegetables.
The House is on a magnificent sand beach that slopes into the inviting warm water of the Indian Ocean. Couples, families or groups of friends will enjoy a variety of activities — swimming in the interior pool or on our own ocean front, taking long walks on the beach, water skiing and tubing, kayaking, trips to historic sites especially Lamu Town, which is rightly famous as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or just relaxing in swing beds on the beach.
Kizingoni House offers the perfect vacation destination with the sea, sun and sand of Lamu, especially when combined with Kenya’s unmatched game parks.
Travel from Europe and other parts of the world is uncomplicated with connecting commercial flights from Nairobi to Lamu. Kizingoni House staff will be at the airport to meet guests who are then transported in our own boat to the House.
Kizingoni House is managed by its owners Susan and Tom Tilson, who have retired in Kenya and live in Nairobi. Their first visit to Lamu was over 40 years ago, and it has been a special place ever since.
On 9 March 2017 the British Foreign Office amended it travel advisory to Kenya saying that tourists from the UK should now be able to travel safely to Lamu and Manda Islands.
